Bukit Melawati (Melawati Hill) is a popular destination for locals, a place vibrant with its historical site. There were protective walls of the fort, royal graves, a lighthouse, a poisonous well, several cannons, and many more. The hilltop offers a great view of the Straits of Malacca. There is also a bird sanctuary park at the foot of Bukit Melawati, and you can find silver-leafed monkeys roaming on the hill. 

Next, we head to Pasir Panambang in Kuala Selangor, located on the Selangor River which is famous for its fresh food and impressive history. This is a place for dinner, and at the restaurant, you can see the fisherman's boat passing a view of the beautiful sunset. 

The last stop would be the Fireflies Tour in Kampung Pasir Penambang. Famous for its large fireflies colonies the visitors can enjoy a delightful boat ride in the Selangor River. In Malaysia, Firefly can only be found in Kampung Kuantan, Selangor. They are in 6 cm length. The male flash brighter than the female because of the need to attract the female fireflies during mating season.

Itinerary
1600: Pick-up from big major hotel in Kuala Lumpur
1615: Head to Kuala Selangor town in the quiet district of Kampung Pasir Penambang. It is home to the largest firefly colonies in the world.
1730: On arrival at Kuala Selangor, visit Bukit Melawati – The hilltop offers a great view of the Straits of Malacca and the mangrove swamps of Kuala Selangor. Also, there are Silver-Leafed monkeys can be found and food will be provided for feedings of the monkeys.
1800: Vegetarian Dinner /Seafood served upon request (Halal food is served). This is a beautiful place to view the sunset.
1930: Head back to Kampung Pasir Penambang, the place where you can see fireflies. The mangrove trees on the riverbanks glow after dusk like a Christmas tree. Observe the light and glow of the fireflies while enjoying a delightful boat ride in the Selangor River.
2230: Drive back to Kuala Lumpur.

Optional visit: Eagle Feeding - RM 40.00 per person; 45 minutes boat ride

KELIP-KELIP
A type of insect in the beetle order Coleoptera. This insect can be found in Kampung Kuantan, Kuala Selangor. They use their bioluminescence (emission of light by a living organism) during twilight to attract their prey or mate. They flash their light at a specified interval of 3 seconds and in a perfect rhythm. The male flash brighter as it tries to attract the females.

BEREMBANG TREES
Berembang tree (mangrove apple) or scientifically known as Sonneratia Caseolaris is a species of plant in the family Lythraceae. It grows along the bank of the Selangor River because it can only grow in a damp and swampy environment. Aside from providing food for the fireflies it also acts as a water filter as it filters the dirt and poisonous substance from the river.
